By purchasing a SkiePhone or using the SkieOS caregiver dashboard, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before completing your purchase. These terms are a legal agreement between you and Knowphone Technology Solutions Private Limited. If you do not agree, please do not purchase or activate a SkiePhone.
1. Who Can Use This Service

To purchase a SkiePhone and use the SkieOS caregiver dashboard, you must:

Be at least 18 years of age
Be the parent or legal guardian of the child who will use the device
Be a resident of India or an eligible international customer as specified at checkout
Provide accurate account and delivery information

SkiePhone is intended for use by children aged 8 to 18 under the supervision of a caregiver. The child is the device user but is not a party to these Terms. The caregiver is solely responsible for the child's use of the device.

2. What You Are Buying
When you purchase a SkiePhone, you are purchasing two distinct things. It is important to understand what each company is responsible for.
Hardware Device

The physical smartphone (currently Samsung Galaxy M07, with additional compatible devices to be announced) is manufactured by the Original Equipment Manufacturer ("OEM"). Knowphone is not the manufacturer of the hardware.

The hardware is covered by the OEM's standard manufacturer warranty. For hardware issues, contact the OEM directly via their authorised service centres. See our Hardware Warranty page for details.

SkieOS Software and MDM Service

SkieOS is Knowphone's proprietary Device Policy Controller application pre-installed on the device. The SkieOS software and the caregiver dashboard are Knowphone's products covered by an annual subscription.

For software, dashboard, or MDM-related issues, contact Knowphone. For getting the device unmanaged, contact Knowphone.

The SkieOS software is licensed to you, not sold. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use SkieOS on one registered device per active subscription. Knowphone retains all intellectual property rights in SkieOS.

3. SkieOS Software Licence and Remote Management

By activating SkiePhone, you grant Knowphone's SkieOS application Device Owner privileges on the device. You explicitly acknowledge and consent to the following:

Knowphone may push policy updates, configuration changes, and software updates to the device remotely and without requiring action from the device user
Knowphone may update the SkieOS application silently in the background via over-the-air (OTA) updates
SkieOS will enforce the parental controls you configure through the caregiver dashboard
The device user (your child) will not be able to uninstall SkieOS, change restricted settings, or unenrol the device without your authorisation as caregiver

Knowphone will never use Device Owner privileges to access your child's personal messages, media, or private data. See Section 6 and our Privacy Policy for the full list of what Knowphone can and cannot access.

4. Caregiver Responsibilities

As the caregiver who purchases and activates a SkiePhone, you are solely responsible for:

Ensuring that the child using the device is between 8 and 18 years of age and is under your legal guardianship
Configuring the device appropriately for your child's age, maturity, and needs
Monitoring your child's use of the device and the information displayed on the caregiver dashboard
Keeping your caregiver account credentials secure and not sharing them with the child or any unauthorised person
Informing your child, in an age-appropriate manner, that the device has parental controls and monitoring features enabled
Complying with all applicable laws regarding monitoring and supervision of minors in your jurisdiction
5. Device Owner Acknowledgment
By completing your purchase and activating SkiePhone, you explicitly confirm that you have read and understood the following:
SkieOS operates as an Android Device Owner application, granting system-level management control over the device
The device user (your child) cannot uninstall SkieOS, disable its permissions, or remove the Device Owner status without your authorisation
You as the caregiver can trigger a remote factory reset of the device from the caregiver dashboard, which will permanently erase all data on the device
Device Owner privileges are removed and the device becomes a standard Android phone when you cancel your subscription or request removal from Knowphone support

An explicit in-app consent confirmation for Device Owner mode is presented to you during the device setup flow in the caregiver dashboard. Setup cannot be completed without this confirmation.

6. What Knowphone Can and Cannot Access
What Knowphone Can Do
Push software updates to the SkieOS application
Apply and remove device policies at caregiver direction
View device status, battery level, and online status
View the list of installed applications
View blocked install attempt notifications
View the most recent GPS location if location is enabled by the caregiver
Execute a factory reset only when triggered by explicit caregiver action
What Knowphone Cannot Do
Read messages, emails, or personal communications
Access photos, videos, or files stored on the device
Listen to calls or activate the microphone remotely
View individual website visits or browsing history
Access data from third-party applications
Sell or share device data with advertisers
Transfer Device Owner access to any third party
7. Subscription Terms
Plans and Pricing

SkieOS is available on an annual subscription plan. Current pricing is displayed at skiephone.com/getskie.

India: INR 1,999 plus applicable GST per device per year
International: USD 25 plus applicable taxes per device per year
Each subscription covers one registered SkiePhone device
For additional devices, a separate subscription is required per device
Billing and Renewal
Your subscription begins on the date of device activation
Subscriptions are billed annually in advance
We will send a renewal reminder by email at least 30 days before your renewal date
Renewal is not automatic. You will be prompted to renew through the caregiver dashboard or via the renewal reminder email
Cancellation

You may cancel your SkiePhone subscription at any time by contacting us at contact@knowphone.in or using the cancellation option in the caregiver dashboard.

On cancellation, SkieOS Device Owner privileges will be removed from the device within 48 hours
The device will revert to a standard Android smartphone and no further data will be collected
No refund is issued for unused days in the current subscription period
Your caregiver account data will be retained for 60 days after cancellation then permanently deleted, unless you request earlier deletion
Non-Renewal and Lapsed Subscriptions
We will attempt to contact you by email up to three times over 15 days following the expiry date
If no response or renewal is received within 15 days of expiry, your subscription will be automatically cancelled
SkieOS Device Owner privileges will be removed and the phone will become a standard Android device
Important: Once the device is unmanaged, all parental controls will cease to function. We strongly recommend caregivers ensure renewal before expiry to avoid any gap in protection.
Requesting Device Unmanagement

If you wish to use the device as a standard Android phone without SkieOS at any time, contact us at contact@knowphone.in. We will remove Device Owner status within 48 hours. This is a free service regardless of subscription status.

8. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use SkiePhone or the SkieOS service for any of the following purposes:

Monitoring any adult who has not given explicit informed consent to being monitored
Installing SkiePhone on a device that you do not own or do not have legal authority over
Reselling, transferring, or sublicensing the SkieOS software to any third party
Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of SkieOS
Using the device or service for any illegal purpose under Indian law or the law of your jurisdiction
Circumventing or attempting to bypass any SkieOS restriction or Device Owner policy
9. Hardware Disclaimer
Knowphone Technology Solutions Private Limited is a software and MDM services company. We are not the manufacturer of the smartphone hardware included with SkiePhone.

The smartphone hardware is manufactured by the respective OEM (currently Samsung, with additional OEM partners to be announced). The hardware is subject to that manufacturer's warranty, service terms, and support processes. For all hardware-related issues, contact the OEM directly.

Knowphone makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the hardware device. We are not responsible for hardware failure, physical damage, water damage, battery degradation, or any defect in materials or workmanship.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, KNOWPHONE'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF SKIEPHONE OR SKIEOS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR MOST RECENT ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION.

Knowphone is not liable for:

Hardware failure, damage, or defects (OEM responsibility)
Loss or theft of the device
Harm that occurs if a child successfully bypasses parental controls
Harm arising from GPS location inaccuracy or unavailability
Data loss resulting from a factory reset initiated by the caregiver
Service interruption due to Firebase, NextDNS, or Samsung Knox infrastructure downtime
Any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Knowphone Technology Solutions Private Limited, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the SkiePhone service, or any claim by a third party arising from your use of parental controls in a manner not permitted by law.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of SkiePhone shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Before initiating any legal proceeding, we encourage you to contact us at contact@knowphone.in to resolve the matter informally. We will make every reasonable effort to address your concern within 30 days.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 15 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the SkiePhone service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

By purchasing a SkiePhone and activating the service, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms of Service in full and agree to be bound by them. You confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child who will use the device.
