Two Separate Products, Two Separate Warranties
When you buy a SkiePhone, you are buying a hardware device and a software service from two different entities. Each has its own warranty.
Hardware Warranty
Provided by the OEM (Samsung, OnePlus, Realme, or other manufacturer). Knowphone is not involved in hardware warranty claims.
SkieOS Software Warranty
Provided by Knowphone Technology Solutions Private Limited. Covers the SkieOS software, caregiver dashboard, and MDM functionality.
Who Makes the Hardware
Knowphone Technology Solutions Private Limited is a software and MDM services company. We pre-load our SkieOS software onto Android smartphones manufactured by leading OEMs and sell them to you as SkiePhone.
We are not the manufacturer, assembler, or hardware service provider. We do not repair hardware, replace screens, fix batteries, or process manufacturer warranty claims on your behalf. For all hardware issues, you contact the OEM directly.
OEM Hardware Warranty
The smartphone included with your SkiePhone comes with the OEM's standard manufacturer warranty. Coverage details vary by manufacturer.
What the OEM Warranty Typically Covers
•Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
•Hardware failures that occur under normal use
•Defects in the display, buttons, charging port, or speakers under normal use
•Battery defects (distinct from normal battery degradation over time)
Coverage period: typically 12 months from the date of purchase. Check the OEM warranty card in your box for exact terms.
What the OEM Warranty Does Not Cover
•Physical damage including cracked screens, dents, or bent frames
•Water or liquid damage
•Damage caused by dropping the device
•Unauthorised modifications to the hardware
•Normal wear and tear and normal battery capacity reduction over time
•Loss or theft

Knowphone warrants that the SkieOS software and caregiver dashboard will function as described during your active subscription period.
What Knowphone's Software Warranty Covers
•The SkieOS Device Policy Controller application functioning as described
•Caregiver dashboard access and core features including app controls, policy management, and device status
•Over-the-air software updates delivered to the device
•Parental control features operating as documented
•Customer support for SkieOS-related issues during your active subscription
What Knowphone's Software Warranty Does Not Cover
•Hardware failures of any kind
•Service interruptions caused by Firebase, NextDNS, Samsung Knox, or other third-party infrastructure
•Issues caused by tampering with device settings in ways not authorised by Knowphone
•Features explicitly described as beta or in development
•Software functionality after the subscription has lapsed or been cancelled
Samsung Knox Partnership
SkiePhone devices provisioned through the Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment programme benefit from Knox-level security attestation for device provisioning and enrollment. Knox-related functionality is covered under Knowphone's software warranty to the extent it is within Knowphone's control. Samsung Knox infrastructure itself is subject to Samsung's own terms.
Getting the Device Unmanaged
If you wish to use your SkiePhone as a standard Android smartphone without SkieOS, you can request Device Owner removal at any time. This is a free service and does not require an active subscription.
Email contact@knowphone.in with your order number and the Android ID or IMEI of the device. We will remove Device Owner status within 48 hours and confirm by email.
If you need the device unmanaged to access OEM warranty service at a service centre, let us know and we will prioritise your request.
